French singer Yelle first came to public attention via the social networking site MySpace.

A song posted on MySpace titled "Short Dick Cuizi", dissing Cuizinier, a member of the Parisian hip-hop group TTC saw the singer rise to fame before her single "À cause des Garçons" was featured on the soundtrack of popular video game, Need for Speed: ProStreet.

The singer released her debut album Pop-up in 2007.
