Horniman Museum
June 20th 2008 07:15
The Horniman Museum is located in the south of London and is a museum of the world, its peoples and their cultures, and its environments. Founded in 1901 by the Victorian tea trader Frederick Horniman, a large part of the original collection is still on display today.
A new aquarium opened in 2006 and is designed so that young children can easily see the displays which include tropical Coral Reefs as well as British Pond Life!
A full range of events and activities takes place for different audiences including storytelling and art and craft sessions for children, and courses and workshops for adults. You can also enjoy a walk around the delightful gardens or take the kids to the farmyard animal enclosure.
