Hairspray: The Musical is coming to London's West End and will be playing its first show at the Shaftesbury Theatre on October 11, 2007.
Based upon the film written and directed by John Waters, Hairspray: The Musical is set in the city of Baltimore in the year 1962. Tracy Turnblad, a big girl with big hair and an even bigger heart has only one passion - to dance.
She wins a spot on the local TV dance program, "The Corny Collins Show" and, overnight, is transformed from outsider to irrepressible teen celebrity.
Follow Tracy on her journey and see if she can dethrone the reigning princess of the program and win the heart of heart-throb Link Larkin.
