Churchill Museum and Cabinet War Rooms
July 2nd 2008 15:30
The Cabinet War Rooms was constructed in 1938 to serve as an underground headquarter of the British High Command in the event of an aerial attack on London and was put to good use by Sir Winston Churchill during World War II.
Featuring a Map Room, Cabinet Room, Churchill's Room and a Transatlantic Telephone Room, many of these areas were restored earlier this decade to preserve its historic value and to be revealed to the public for the first time.
The Churchill Museum, the world’s first major museum dedicated to life of Winston Churchill, is a permanent exhibition housed within the unique setting of the historic Cabinet War Rooms.
