Big Ben

The Big Ben is the nickname for the famous Clock Tower at the Palace of Westminster in London and is arguably one of the city's most popular landmarks.

The four dials of the clock are 23 feet square, the hour and minute hand are 9 and 14 feet long respectively and the figures are 2 feet high making it one of the largest clock towers in the world. Despite the tower being closed to the general public, millions of tourists flock to its surrounding areas to take photos etc. every year.

The significance of the Big Ben in popular culture means that it is a symbol of the United Kingdom throughout the world.
